"Location, traditional feel."

"Helpful and flexible with uncertainty over bookings, and the accommodation was at least satisfactory in general... but there was drastically inadequate parking for a full hostel, and we were not given all the necessary info about how to gain access to the buildings ! ( a helpful resident who happened to be up late saved us from standing outside in the cold and dark. Make sure the person on the desk not only gives over the FULL keypad entry number...but also HOW to access the key pad in order...

"We had a nice stay here. The only bug bear was that there was not much fruit at breakfast. I do not eat fry ups in the morning. The only fruit was apples. Maybe a dish of mixed fruit or bananas would have been nice. The staff were really pleasant and the hotel itself was fine for our 2-day stay. The bedroom could have been a little bit more updated, paint off in most places, the en-suite was old fashioned, could be done up more modern really."

"The Woolly Sheep is a lovely base for a trip to Skipton and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and maintained with plenty of storage available should you need it. The restaurant and bars are comfortable and the food is very good. Being summer, we made use of the outside courtyard to sit and enjoy a lovely glass of chilled wine! "The best asset of the property is its location. Specially, if you have a room facing the canal site, which is quieter the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic to help. That does not overcome the fact that if you have a room on the third floor you have to lugg your suitcase, up four flights of stairs. Rooms start on the second floor. You want room the second floor . I did not have hot water for my shower and did report this to the staff, but there was no resolution. I did however have hot...

"The Skipton Hotel was well appointed for a short towpath walk to Skipton centre. It had a lovely view, staff were generally helpful, and breakfast was fine. Our room though (a studio on floor 5) was baking hot and when we complained about this we got given an extra fan. It wasn't just that the weather was hot (it was) but the generators and other plant equipment sent heat through the floor into the room making it sauna like. We feel we should have asked to be moved but didn't want to complain...

"Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...

"My husband and I stayed two nights in June while exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The location is excellent, in a quintessential Dales village, with a number of fun shops and eateries. The room was simply furnished but perfectly adequate. Be aware there are a number of steps, and the tub/shower is deep to step into, so not a good choice if you have accessibility issues."

The food was excellent and the dining room service was excellent…..evening meal and breakfast. The views were incredible, the location was beautiful. "There weren't shops or much nearby. But i think the purpose of this lodge is that you get to see the countryside and visit the 3 peaks Yorkshire as it's the closet by 27 mins drive. Plus it got a bath tub which is needed after a long hike."
