"Breakfast was delightful each morning! Also, our family appreciated the lovely sunroom, the helpful staff, the convenience to the village of Grasmere and countless footpaths, the treats put out each afternoon… we plan to return to the District and will stay at Victorian House!"

"Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. "

"The hotel is very well maintained, and staff were excellent. The breakfast was disappointing, as the only fruit available was an indifferent fruit salad. No prunes, grapefruit, peaches fresh strawberries etc. The only hotel I have stayed in where the cold buffet lacked fruit. The toaster (as is usual) either under toasts or almost burns the toast"

"Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased."

"The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs."

"All was great, except we thought we had paid for an upgraded room. While it did have a balcony, it overlooked the parking lot rather than the village, with a tight configuration at the window. One staff member was particularly helpful, giving us great advice on hikes."

"Everything was amazing and so easy. Received great instructions the day before check in with videos etc. The check in process was a doddle, as was checkout. The comms via whats app was so efficient. I requested the chance of a later check out and they managed to extend this to 11:30 no questions asked. Room was stunning, bed was SO comfortable and it was less than a 10 minute walk into Ambleside. Also highly reccommend the stone baked pizza hut next door - AMAZING!!!! Would most certainly...

"An amazing stay at the Dale Head Hotel! Beautiful location and well-manicured grounds to walk around. There is access to the lake from the property, but not easily - the path is a little over-grown. The Manager, Dale, was lovely and could not have been more helpful. We were there to hike Helvellyn, and he advised us that Swirls Car park (beginning of the hike) is easily accessed from the hotel by a woodland footpath, rather than the main road, or paying for the car park.
