Was nice that restaurant was on location, however, front desk should have let us know to reserve a table time when we checked in. There was not any other place to eat and tons of patrons on premises. "The grounds are beautiful and historic and when we drove up I had high expectations for the interior. I would not consider it anywhere near a 4 star hotel. The room was in a poor state, and paint was chipping from every surface, and the carpet was split down the center of the room creating a crater, in addition to being frayed and shredded. "The room was quite small. Had the fish and chips which was somewhat disappointing as there was more batter then fish. Everything else was good."

The only faults were the room was always warm that's with radiator turned off, the cold water tap at sink was just a trickle but hot water flowed well, the shower was hot or hotter no cold, there is a small fridge inside a cupboard at dressing table which makes the top warm and the noise from kitchen extractor fan very noisy at times we had to leave our window...
