I was on a business trip and specifically booked the Townhouse on the back of the highly positive online reviews. I wasn't disappointed. From the perfectly-toned welcome from David onwards, I was thoroughly impressed. There are 5 rooms and I was staying in one of the smaller rooms at the top. It was lovely: extremely clean, well designed and furnished throughout, very comfortable bed and lots of extras, such as the fruit, shortbread, proper coffee etc. Breakfast was exceptional and, overall, the...

Even before arrival Hilary couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We were able to check in a little early without any difficulties. The building was beautiful and the lovely open fire with complementary wine in the lounge was so relaxing. We stayed in the regent room which was really cosy with a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was really nice too. A little walk from the station and princess street. It was definitely worthy of all the other fantastic reviews. We will definitely be...

Really amazing staff make this place great. Will be back for sure.

Very clean property, excellent staff, will stay again.

Excellent location, excellent hosts, excellent place to stay

Great stay. We arrived a bit early and the room was ready. Close to a tram stop or about a 30 min walk to princes street. Plenty of shops, cafes and bars nearby.

Amazing host, fantastic breakfast, brilliant old leather chair in room 1. Gareth, the owner couldn't do enough for us. He even gave us a bottle of prosecco for our wedding anniversary (see photo). Highly recommended

I spent quite a while looking for the best combination of location, reviews, appearance, price and convenience and must confess to having been a little sceptical of the high scores I found at such a modest cost. But I found that they are totally justified. I received an upgrade on arrival and my hosts could not have been more helpful, giving me information about places worth visiting, local transport and options of where to eat etc. Walking into the house for the first time, it was clear what a...

Nicely decorated room with big bathroom, good shower and very comfortable bed. Helpful staff, especially about late check-in) and good breakfast. Nice location. Good value for money

Thank you to Heather for the wonderful hospitality, beautiful accommodation and breakfast. Everything was perfect: quiet; gorgeous room with large ensuite; fabulous breakfast; fast internet; close to water in Dundee; lovely 12miles drive to St Andrews. Best value for money and definitely a high end 4*. Would come back to Scotland just to stay here again.

Great location, great price, never had an issue!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dorstan. The B&B is an ideal location to explore Edinburgh being quiet & either a 20min walk or short bus ride to the city centre. The owners were very helpful giving me a map to explore, offering suggestions of places to visit & answering any questions. Breakfast was also served promptly & with a smile. My room was clean & tidy with fresh towels, bins emptied & tea/coffee replenished each day. Though I had a single room with no toilet or shower this was not...
