The unit itself is very nice, renovated, clean and inviting. The location is in the old city, very close to many architectural and historical sites and convenient for food and activities.
However, the location is overrun with un-homed and/or non-working people. There was a large contingent (30-40 people daily) that sat at the end of the laneway to the apartment doors for 24-hours a day, left their garbage and clothing behind and most importantly used the laneway as their washroom. It was absolutely disgusting, both sight and smell.
And, we reached out to the property management the day of our arrival (a Saturday), as the TV was not working. We did not get a response for 2 days (and were staying there for 3 in total). When asked why we could not get any attention, the response was "it was the weekend and we are short-staffed". If you rent units 7 days a week, you should be available 7 days a week to support your tenants.
The property manager agreed to provide a small refund for poor response over our stay (a 10% reduction on the rental fee), however it's been a week and we've not seen that and have no evidence that this was actually requested or will be fulfilled.
Summary: don't stay there unless you have absolutely no sense of smell and don't mind walking through open garbage and sewage daily.
