"The room and the hotel was great. It was like staying in a hotel in the 1800s but with modern comforts. Shops and restaurants within walking distance was nice. There were some homeless in the area and one of them was getting aggressive with us. Thankfully there were cops walking around and they came to our aid. So thankful for that."

Guest rooms have huge windows, TV, cable, internet. Its a simple, comfortable and safe place to stay and at a fraction of the price of other hotels further away from downtown."

"Parking was a little tight a few nights, but still available. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was consistently very good and very well prepared. The staff taking care of the breakfast room did an excellent job keeping things maintained. We enjoyed our stay. The only negative was the pool was so cold, we couldn't stay in the water."

"The internet was fast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Airport pick up and railroad depot drop were carried out in a very timely manner. Two of my international credit cards did not work during check-in although those were accepted in Seward and Fairbanks. Breakfast was wholesome but on both mornings it was the same. There was no toilet paper initially which was supplied readily on calling the front desk. But the rod to hold the toilet paper was broken. The built-in air...
