The room and couch was dirty woke up with bites on me Breakfast was horrible. First comfort. Serve, which I found stupid. No serial nothing. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to stay in there. At all I give it a 0 star
The property is old , however this is not the issue, but clean issues of bed sheet and pillows are dirty and I saw baby spiders on the bed 🙈🙈🙈, staff are nice .
Bedbugs and a terrible manager. Alex, the manager decided deny refund. Don't stay here unless you'd like disgusting bugs to cuddle next to. I wish I could leave a zero star review to protect future customers.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The breakfast ran out fast. The front desk aren't helpful with service such as giving utensils out despite having a breakfast lounge that allows utensils to be given out. The housekeepers aren't exactly helpful either with their service. They are slow at providing service and they are actually stingy with giving garbage bags for your garbage bins! Could you believe that?
Sound insulation is nonexistent. You can hear everybody from all sides of the room. I was assigned to a room with a broken TV and a bad remote. The front desk came up the "fix" and claimed it was a glitch. The channels were extremely basic just local TV. No cable TV, only local.
Extremely shady motel. Police would often come over and check out on specific guests and it was quite obvious prostitution was occurring inside these rooms.
The room was decent furnished and clean. The only part that left a negative taste was the breakfast, a sign showed Supply as Last ! And that was exactly the problem. You have to be at the breakfast room door at 7:30 to get breakfast. The food runs out in a few minutes. On our last day an additional problem came up: a broken coffee ad hot water machine.
You get what you pay for!
The room was dirty. The wall on the sink was filled with dead ants. The guy came and he just sprayed it. There was a cockroach on the bathtub. Overall the room was spacious but it was disgusting. We asked for a room or at least a clean up they ain’t have anyone or room available. They made it hard to get a discount at least. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again.
Calificaciones menos cero. Es un hotel barato pero muy malo.
Three nights four days NO AIRCON! Need to buy a FAN!
Garvey Inn Hotel at Monterey Park, L.A., CA
1. Some leftover drinks in the refrigerator; an unfinished drink in the freezer.
2. Toilet paper holder broken, toilet paper was placed on the toilet tank cover.
3. Both ends of the shower curtain rod mounting devices were broken, big gaps between both ends (curtain to walls!
4. The TV remote control cover cannot be secured.
5. The phone by the bed didn’t work; no cable to hook up.
6. Air conditioner did not work at all! Weather was unbearable at 90 degrees! And three nights without any air conditioning. And we had to buy an electrical fan!
7. No staff fixed anything! No switching room! No refund!
On the first night (07/03/26), we went down to the service counter to talk to Alex Ahir (claimed hotel owner’s family member, who was rude and arrogant), to report the above problems, he rejected to provide any fixing of the problems, not even just went up to the room to fix the air conditioner! And he kept challenging us: “How much you paid for one night!” He bluntly told us that we had no way to complaint at all! We had to buy an electrical fan for those 4 days in the hotel! We had lived in the U.S. for more than 40 years, and never had this horrible experience in any hotel! We felt deeply puzzled: "How a big company like Expedia could list this substandard hotel in its decent website?"
I rarely leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be said. Our group includes front desk professionals who understand what great service looks like. Unfortunately, the slim gentleman at your front desk showed a complete lack of basic courtesy toward guests. Having him represent your business will cost you. Loyal guests matter, and only strong service creates future opportunities. Please coach him on how to treat people and show respect. Rude responses to guests are unacceptable. Thank you.
The young man in the mornings has an attitude and is rude. During our arrival and check in, we had a hard time opening the door with the horrible cards they give for door access. We went to ask the front desk for assistance and he made a face showing he was bothered by the request. He then stated that we are lying. I asked him to come up and check for himself. He then said he didn’t want to and wanted to place a bet for a double deposit. To say the least I was upset but I went to try it again without him and this time I used hella force. The door opened. Almost broke my hand doing it but hey… it opened. I will never stay here again. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS FORCE FOR YOUR NEXT VISIT
The room was not big. But it was decent. Online says you can check in at 1pm. But regardless of what they may tell you via email, they won't let you check in until 3pm. The lobby had seats we could sit in while we waited. The best thing about the room was the shower. It's a walk in. Comfortable and the water pressure was great. Very strong! Maybe not so great if your're older or sensitive but I love it. There was no housekeeping, which was fine for us. We just left the trash bin outside and they emptied it accordingly. It's not the Hilton. But it was comfortable for us because we had no high expectations. There's no microwave in the room. But there is one in the lobby. There is a fridge in the room. No coffee maker. Towels are small so take your own. Cable isn't great. I just watched YouTube videos on my phone. 7-11 is across the street as are a few other eateries. It's a nice area. A bit far from the airport though. Close to the convention center which is what we wanted because we were going to the anime expo.
