The property was very clean and the landscaping was beautiful. We had a room on the 6th floor with a beautiful view of the pools and ocean. Our view of the famous rocks and arch was obstructed by 2 cruise ships for 3 full days during our stay. The cleaning staff and wait staff were very friendly/efficient, not the bartenders. One day during our stay, we had a large puddle in our kitchen from condensation in the ceiling. The problem was very quickly resolved and the main office called the next day to follow up and verify that the problem was fixed. We were disappointed by the limited dining options on-site. Each morning of our stay, we had to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour for the breakfast buffet. It was also not communicated to us that some of the evening shows were more popular than others (i.e., Michael Jackson show) and that elite members could reserve tables for the evening show/buffet. Because of this, there was not enough seating to accommodate us, and many other guests. This left us looking for other dinner dining options at the resort. The other restaurants were also full and left us with a 2 hour wait for dinner with hungry, small children. The daily activities at the resort pool were the same every day and not very exciting. The daily volleyball game in the family pool was not kid/family friendly. Adults came from the adults-only pool to play. Little kids were quickly pushed out and my 9 year old son was yelled at by an older man for not knowing how to play.

The room 2604 assigned to us had a beautiful view sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings were very enjoyable. Dining options were a bit lacking and difficult at times to get a table in a reasonable time. We also were disappointed that it was not communicated to us that the Michael Jackson show is primarily reserved for elite members had we known we would have been there to stand in line much earlier than 6:00pm. This was a show my 9 year old son was looking forward to seeing. We did appreciate the chance to still watch from the perimeter of the dining hall. Waiting Staff, bellhop & house keeping were extremely friendly and payed attention to detail we were very pleased! Front desk could use some work with communication on amenities and resort activities.

Our stay went better than expected considering the endless pressure to upgrade to AI. The persistent pushing for this is relentless prior to arriving, at the time you enter the building, & then even prevents you fr/reaching your room after check-in. To get to your room-your solace after a long, tiring travel exp, you must wait because your so-called concierge requires covering planned excursions/activities, restaurants, etc, after guests had been waiting @chkin, stuck in horrific traffic (pvt transfer) due to protest & staff was FULLY aware of it yet still seriously delayed paying/exhausted/& possibly unwell travelers. IMO, prices are complete overkill. AI here promotes waste & some people don't clean^ after themselves. The hard-working staff can only keep up w/so much. The guest privilege is impossible to miss & reaches a level of embarrassment. My daughter was cleaning trash repeatedly. Room was clean, beds comfy, minimal pillows-full/firm. Great kitchen. The chair padding is extremely dirty in the restaurants, mostly noticed at Bella Cali. Location is great besides the req'd trek to swimmable waters. Pool staff great. Although they have overcharged me. It appears there was a dup chrg I made pymt via CC & not to the room. Not that they supplied me w/an itemized bill... The staff was great (except for the concierge/salespeople). Bellman at the entrance, PHENOMENAL. No fault of theirs, but our luggage was basically held hostage until we finished the meeting with concierge.

We stayed in 3 rooms with our 4 adult children and had a fabulous time. The food was the best we’ve ever had in an all-inclusive. The location was excellent, you can swim in the ocean and walk down the beach to downtown (30 min). There are lots of activities in and around the lower pool to participate in or you can go to the adult upper pool if you don’t. There is a show every night and we enjoyed the fire pit at night and the sports bar. We will definitely come back !

Stayed at Villa del Palmar in Cabo San Lucas and overall had a good experience. The location is great — right on Medano Beach and within a reasonable Uber ride to the marina and town. The resort itself is comfortable, family-friendly, and easy to navigate. We did the all-inclusive for part of the stay, which made things very convenient, especially with a kid — no need to think about meals or drinks throughout the day. Service was solid and the beach is swimmable, which is a big plus in Cabo. That said, food quality is decent but not a standout — good enough, but not something you’d come here specifically for. After our all-inclusive expired, we used Uber to get around, which was cheap and easy. However, we noticed that breakfast spots in town were priced similarly to the Bay Area, while the uniqueness and quality of the food didn’t quite match what you’d find in places like Tulum. Overall, a solid, low-stress vacation spot with a great location and good value if you use the all-inclusive, but not a top destination if your main focus is food.

Has everything one needs in the room and is in walking distance to town. Advise eating in the many excellent places in the town. Have stayed in sister property Estancia in the past. First time at Palmar. Clientele during spring break was horrid. Lots of smoking, late night noise, evidence of illicit activity in the elevators (butt prints). Felt like the property was a little understaffed. Workers in place were hard working and attentive.

When we showed up we got put in the worst room. Main floor, right next to elevator, with the deck facing the valet. We ended up upgrading our room at our own expense. In hindsight, would just book directly through the hotel. I don’t think they prioritize hotels.com bookings.

The room was nice, large enough for 3 with a full kitchen. Considering everything in the area near the resort including the resort is expensive; cooking in the room was appreciated. The private beach, pool and the hot tubs are very pretty and nice. They have nightly entertainment but you need to pay 90$/head for a buffet to enjoy the show. I wish they allowed folks to watch the show albeit standing outside the performance area. It would have made the experience even better. Room service was courteous and prompt; the management was not really willing to help. They will charge you $9 for a bottle of water that is under a courtesy tag and will not take it off even after you speak to 3 managers.

Easy to navigate, clean, good pools and hot tubs. Beach is somewhat swimmable unlike like other resorts. Room met expectations. Only complaint is the individual drinks/food items are very expensive if you’re not all-inclusive and the staff pushed the “charge it to the room” which we didn’t care for.
