Jo was a fantastic hostess on our very wet and windy stay in Lynton helping out with local walking routes places to eat and serving an excellent varied breakfast
Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy
An excellent, great value place to stay right in the gente of Lynton. Jo the host works so hard to ensure that guests enjoy their stay and most importantly at this time is strictly following the safety measures in place. A great choice available at breakfast time, bed was supremely comfortable and WiFi very good. It is great value and I certainly would stay here again if in Lynton.
Stayed for a weekend jo the landlady very welcoming. rooms spotless.stayed in the super king room (1) plenty of room comfortable bed lovely shower..cannot fault the breakfast tasty and plentiful. would recommend as a great base to explore the area. Lynton lovely lynmouth even better
Fantastic B&B, Jo was a great Hostess, very helpful and provided information on the town and the surrounding area. Comfortable and clean room. Top Notch breakfast. Highly recommended
Insgesamt hervorragend.
An excellent b & b. Could not fault the breakfast, comfort and Joanna's hospitality. Great area for walking at this time of year. The nearby Crown offered excellent pub food. We had a lovely time!
We chose The Fernery B&B for its proximity to the stark and scenic Valley of The Rocks as well as the fact that we needed a midpoint stopover on our way from the St. Ives area to Tenby in Wales — we were very glad we did!
Our host, Jo, went to great lengths to make us feel at home and her efforts were much appreciated. There was even a questionnaire detailing various aspects of our B&B experience. While this might seem unusual, I firmly believe that she was genuinely interested in providing the best service to her guests, seeking further ways to improve.
With a rustic charm and layered history, The Fernery offered the usual amenities but to an elevated standard including a fantastic breakfast using top ingredients (the sausages in particular seemed to be of extremely high quality) as well as home-baked bread.
Throughout our UK Adventure, my wife and I stayed in 7 different accommodations. The Fernery B & B was by far the most comfortable — never before have we had such a quiet and restful night as we did at our one night stay. The king size bed was both firm and yielding at the same time whilst the sheets (Egyptian cotton, I believe) were unbelievably pleasant to the touch. And the pillows were the only ones on our travels that didn’t swallow our heads whole or fall flat at the first touch.
Our only regrets were that we didn’t have longer to explore the town, quaint as it seemed, and that we couldn’t stay just one more night in that comfortable bed!
The reviews say it all. Jo greeted us with tea and cake. Showed us our room etc. Bedroom had king size bed with quality bed linen. Bathroom quality towels and flannels plus toiletries . Lovely choice of tea coffee and biscuits in room. Excellent breakfast and great choice. Jo very knowledgeable on area for walks and eateries. Would definitely stay again
Well looked after. Comfortable bed, clean room and very good breakfast. Nice local walks to Lynmouth or along the coast so plenty of opportunity for exercise. A good base from which to explore.
Home cakes on arrival was a great start to our holiday. The room was comfy with a great view of the lovely garden. the breakfast was tasty with ample portions and home made bread. we ate our morning meal at a large table with the rest of the guests which was very friendly. Top it all off with Jo who is friendly and treats you as house guests not just paying guests and you are left with great stay.
The Fernery is run by Jo, a lovely and friendly lady, who provided us with coffee and fabulous home made cakes on our arrival. The breakfast is varied, well prepared and plenty of it! This includes delicious home made bread. There are only three rooms at The Fernery, so all the guests sit at one large table in a friendly and informal fashion. Parking is available just over the road at £3.50 a day, passes available from Jo.
We stayed for four days and enjoyed every day, Jo was very friendly and knowledgeable about local walks and sights.
Our stay was wonderful the owner was very friendly and made us scones & tea on arrival which were delicious. The house and our room was externally clean. Lovely full English breakfast booked for a time convenient for us
Overnight stay in a character Lynton B&B. Owner kindly emailed a map with suggested parking (Public car park) but only received it the day of booking and had no way to print it. Although there is public parking down the road, due to the distance and the number of steep stairs it was very difficult to get our luggage to the B&B. Decided to just take the bare minimum and leave the luggage in the car.
A lovely Guest house. Jo very welcoming superb breakfast attention to detail and cleanliness. Really nice to be offered tea on arrival with fresh cakes. Quality of food second to none.
This is a really charming guest house situated in the middle of the delightful town of Lynton, near Lynmouth. The guest house is an early Victorian building that has lots of character and is beautifully presented as well as being immaculate.
The room I had was also very charming with a comfortable double bed, all the facilities you would expect such as TV, tea/coffee making, free WiFi (which worked well!) and a smart ensuite/shower room.
You'll get a warm welcome and an excellent choice for breakfast. The centre is a short stroll away and has lovely shops and restaurants plus a lift which takes you down the cliff to the harbour town of Lynmouth.
This is a great place to base yourself for a holiday but for a longer stay you might want to ask for a room at the front of the hotel if you want a view. There is noly on road parking as far as I know but this was a short walk away and no problem for me.
Highly recommended!
I throughly enjoyed four very comfortable nights at The Fernery. I received a warm welcome and was offered tea.
My room was small but extremely clean and comfy and the property itself was quaint with a sense of history.
Breakfast choice was excellent and whilst there was no parking facility included, a very convenient car park was close by.
