Arlo Midtown
10/10 Excellent
"loved our stay at Arlo Midtown. we were arriving after midnight and the hotel accomodated this with staff available for a very late check in. Attentive and helpful staff throughout the stay. Really great location too. The bed was extremely comfortable and although the rooms are small, they make use of the space well and it didn't feel boxy. Shower pressure excellent. We will stay again!"

Hotel Edison Times Square
6/10 Okay
"Room was clean and house keeping was on their job from Day 1. WiFi kept dropping so really didn’t get to enjoy that. Grab and go breakfast was horrible. I ask the staff for water after they gave me a bay orange juice. She said I could only get one drink per ticket.
The main good perk was how close the hotel was to time square. "

The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection
4/10 Poor
"Convenient location. Check-in staff was courteous and efficient. Other than that, the experience was more of a 3 star rather than 4 star hotel. Room was small, no mini fridge, no coffee machine. Room temperature was centrally controlled, making it uncomfortably hot or cold. WIndow was sealed shut so no option to get fresh air. Bathroom shower drain was clogged. Breakfast quality was poor. We will not recommend nor return to this hotel."

Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South
6/10 Okay
"Room was too small special for more than three people.

Empire Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"If you are looking for a "classic New York experience," the Empire Hotel interprets that as staying in a room that hasn't been updated since the mid-20th century. My recent stay was a comedy of errors that quickly stopped being funny.
The First Room: A Total Disaster
Upon checking in, I was greeted by an air conditioning unit that looked like a museum relic and functioned like a paperweight. It emitted a loud, metallic rattling noise but zero cool air. To make matters worse, the shower was completely backed up. Within two minutes of turning on the water, I was standing ankle-deep in a pool of gray water that refused to drain.
The Move: No Better
After complaining, I was moved to a second room. While the drain worked here, the air conditioning was once again a failure. It didn't work at all for the first 24 hours, leaving the room stuffy and uncomfortable.
General Condition
The entire property feels incredibly run-down. From the frayed carpets to the peeling paint and the overall "tired" feeling of the furniture, it is clear that maintenance is not a priority here. For the price they charge, you expect a level of comfort that simply doesn't exist at this hotel.
The Verdict
Don't let the famous name or the lobby fool you. The rooms are neglected, the amenities are failing, and the basic necessities—like climate control and functioning plumbing—are a gamble. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually values guest comfort."

Millennium Hotel Broadway Times Square
8/10 Good
"Housekeeping kept entering the room while we were sleeping in (8:00 am)"

Pod Times Square
10/10 Excellent
"My room, and all public areas were absolutely pristine. My room was gorgeous, spare, fresh. However, it received direct afternoon sun on a warm day. The air conditioning was not working, so it got uncomfortably warm in my room. The rooftop restaurant advertised is no longer open. However, this was an extremely good value and I would stay here again in a heartbeat, "

NEW YORKER BY LOTTE HOTELS
2/10 Terrible
"I had an absolutely terrible experience at The New Yorker Hotel. After my stay, I was hit with a $500 "smoking fee" despite the fact that I do not smoke and did not smoke in the room. This is a blatant cash grab and a complete lack of integrity on the hotel's part.
When I tried to resolve this on-site, the lack of professionalism was staggering. I requested to speak with a manager and was simply handed a business card. I have reached out multiple times to the contact provided, but they have completely ignored my messages. I also asked for a manual check (instead of automated sensor) to check for smoke and was denied. Attempting to dispute the charge has been a nightmare because of their refusal to communicate.
Warning to future travelers: Stay elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels in New York that won't slap you with fraudulent fees and then hide behind a non-responsive management team. This was a dishonest and stressful experience from start to finish."

Hyatt Regency Times Square
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. I wish the room had a coffee maker or hotpot. "
