"I truly wish I could have stayed longer in Syros and at Villa Selena. Giannis and Vasiliki were wonderful hosts. I had a mix-up with my taxi from the port and they did a great job arranging new transportation for me. When I arrived, Vasiliki warmly greeted me and was so helpful with my luggage (no small feat) and with recommendations for places to dine around the island. "The property sits on a cliff looking over the sea and the views are breathtaking. They offer breakfast service on a rooftop patio with extraordinary views as well. It is an old but elegant property and the rooms have a nice victorian charm. If you can, try to get a room with a small terrace and full sea view. The location is very close to the restaurants and shops of Ermoupoli, yet there is a walkable hill to negotiate where the hotel is located."

"We had a wonderful stay at Castro Syros. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of the port and the center of Ermoupoli, making it easy to explore the town, shops, and restaurants. The staff was outstanding - welcoming, helpful, and genuinely hospitable. Despite being so close to the action, the hotel is situated on a quiet street, providing a peaceful atmosphere and excellent rest. We would gladly stay here again."

"There was a range of foods -we honed in on fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt etc. coffee made to your preference. Meat seemed to be processed. Staff were quite attentive and kind and compensated with help with luggage on precarious stairs. Soap dish shattered in shower when I grabbed at it. Shower was most roomy and easy to use on our trip. Decor somewhat vintage. View of port was amazing from our window. Great location to ferry, restaurants. No regrets. We would definitely recommend to those who...
