Friendly staff, felt looked after.
Location was a problem as it meant walking through some narrow unlit lanes, the room otsepf was the main problem as theres no window and no ventilation, no tv either. Partly my own fault for booking a Riad expecting a hotel room.
In the end we left after 1 night and checked into a hotel. Cant knock the commitment of the Riad staff.
The first trouble was the room I was allocated doesn’t have key. Though I ask to move the room with lock, they sailed the room is fully booked and you have to stay the room another 2 nights. Also, the staff told me it is ok but I didn’t feel safe. After a conversation, the manager decided to modify key next morning but the key was only from outside which means that I cannot lock the room when I’m in the room including at night.
Top of it, there were group of boys at the entrance of the accommodation where it is about 1.5m width of narrow alley. They kindly helped me to find the hotel however they won’t let pass the road without paying 100 MAD and block the entrance of the hotel. Also, because the place is too small and the group of boys physically occupies the area of the entrance, I cannot avoid talking with them. The staff of the hotel saw the situation but don’t say anything and let them do. I felt the hotel allowed them to earn money from the customer of the hotel.
I had to decided to go to the next destination without seeing Marrakech.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Avoid the first-floor corner room at all costs. It had a strong sewage smell. Our stay got off to a very disappointing start. The hotel tried to give us a room we didn’t book because, according to them, they had “mistakenly” given our reserved room to another guest. The replacement room was smaller and smelled terrible. The owner contacted us later and said we could have the correct room the next morning or move to another riad nearby, but he was not helpful at all. He even claimed they “weren’t expecting us to check in today,” which made no sense since our reservation clearly started that day.
We reached out to Hotels.com customer service, and eventually we received a refund for one night but we still had to spend that first night in a subpar smelly room. On top of that, the property tried to charge a higher municipality fee than what was listed on the Hotels.com website, so be sure to double-check what you’re being asked to pay.
Although the owner was dishonest and seemed to care very little about guest experience, Yaseen, the manager, was incredibly kind and did his best to make things better. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, I would not stay here again.
