"Helpful and friendly staff, very clean room"

"Fieldways hotel has been our choice over the past 10 years but on this occasion we were very disappointed with the lack of staff available at any time, seemed a like a “Look after yourself” scenario’ Our main concern was that we paid £24 more than ever before and there was no cooked breakfast!! The toilets were very dated and needed a complete overhaul/clean. My comment to my wife was that I did not think the hotel would stay open for long and that it seemed as though it was going to be closed...

"The room was fine but as we went on the hottest day of the year it was like an oven. We were provided with a large fan though. Other than that it was a lovely building and the staff were great."

"I loved our one night here. It was a stop off on the way further south but I wish we could have stayed longer. So peaceful. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay happen, even when we arrived late. We ate our breakfast outside in the courtyard which was idyllic. The food was gorgeous. We shopped in the farm shop afterwards and bought more than we needed as it all looked (and was) so good. A really lovely stay. Wished we could have stayed longer. Really ovely room. ...

"We have just spent 3 nights here and can't speak highly. Our stay was very comfortable. Our room was very well equipped, clean. We had biscuits, teas coffe hot chocolate, water and milk and juice on our arrival. Everything you could need in the room. But if you did need anything the staff would be happy to help. The room and pub was so clean . The breakfast were your good and lots of it. Evening meals we ate there 2 nights and all meals very good. Although the fish option wasn't available...

"The mattress was from the 1800's, and as a senior the lazy sods never offered to carry my bag up the creeky stairs. No effort was made to upgrade the property to even the 1950's. Never replaced my coffee or cream."
