"We went for a family stay and it did not disappoint! Warm cosy and we were welcomed with fresh bread and treats left for us. Karen came down to check everything was ok. They also cleared snow from the awning over the hot tub! Great hosts this is are 2nd visit as a family "

"The Hotel is set in lovely surroundings. Swimming pool is excellent. the room was small and a long way to walk to get to it. We had a large room facing the front gardens last time and prefer that even though it is a bit dated. The fried eggs they brought out for breakfast fresh from the kitchen were cold not certain how that happened.It was as if they came from the fridge."

"We were in the annex but did not enjoy this area the room is very basic and the heating did not work we have had better appointed rooms in less expensive hotels .the front of the hotel is in good decorative order but if you have a walk round the castle there are areas which are in a poor state of repair,when we walked around the grounds we were disappointed to note a lot of dog poo had just been left lying about this is something the care taker should be aware off . "Overall my stay was satisfactory, but the level of noise coming from back of house staff late at night was appalling. My room was directly above the kitchen/loading area and it was honestly unbelievable how much noise the staff were making "cleaning up" in the evening, consistently from about 8pm-11:30pm when I had enough. It was like they were literally throwing metal containers around and shouting across the space at full volume. I live in central London and have never experienced disruption...
