Beachfront Palms Resort an Ascend Collection Hotel

2/10 Terrible

"We found a pee stain in our bed sheets. Don't know how long it had been there for, it's obvious the sheets were not changed from the previous resident or possibly longer. My husband and I were so flabbergasted and disgusted. I went to speak to the check in person and he offered to have someone put new sheets on our bed or a new room. I really wanted a refund but was late in the afternoon and didn't want to deal with having to find another hotel for one night. We took a new room, which was not much better. The shower ceiling had mold and rust on the bottom. Floors felt dirty and furniture looked really worn. All the faucet fixings were difficult to turn. Needless to say I would not stay here again, even If I was on a budget. I'd rather spend more money on a decent hotel, and have to spend less on something else so I guarantee nothing like this ever happens again. By the way, this is a motel...not a "resort" as it is advertised. I do not recommend staying here."

"Room was not ready when we arrived. We were asked to wait about 20 min. Waited over an hour, room was still not ready. Sat in lobby under a water leak with a bucket to collect water waiting with our luggage. We were offered room “upgrade” to get a ready room. The room itself was exactly the same but had two queen beds instead of one, which didn’t make a difference to us either way. Pool was not in best shape, nor was it clean. Location was good for beach, but room was noisy due to being located with 20 yards of the McDs drive through. (We could read the menu from our 1st floor balcony!) Price was decent for the location and room size. Staff was busy on phone entire time checking me in with a customer that had not received their hold $ back yet and was double charged. I know this bc I heard the entire conversation twice, once from one clerk and again from the other clerk that took over the call, all while trying to get me checked in."

"I heard nothing but excellent ratings about this place, however our room was not the best. First off we had tiny visitors spiders and water bugs. The trash bin was right next to our room and it brought in flies. The room had an awful smell, like wet towel and dog smell. The walls are paper thin so expect to hear your neighbors pretty clear, we heard a couple arguing as early as 6 am. It’s a bit older hotel and what sold me was the price per night. I guess I got what I paid for."

"This hotel is wildly outdated and smells like mildew. The rooms are incredibly small and the furniture is from the 90s at best. The bathroom is so tiny that the door hits you in the leg while you’re on the toilet. They make you pay a daily fee to park in their completely open to the public parking lot. Staff is rude. We got woken up to loud obnoxious banging at our door at 7:15 AM. It was staff telling us we had a towel hanging from our balcony that needed removed immediately. It’s been drying outside since the previous day around 2:00 pm. We found that extremely rude considering we had the do not disturb sign on our door and it’s a towel….and we are at the beach… I would save your money and go literally anywhere else."
