"I stayed in this hotel while visiting relatives in the area. I know this area because I lived in the local area as a child. The staff were very welcoming and efficient when I arrived. My room was a bit dated, however clean and everything worked as it should..There was some noise from something for a while at night. It sounded like a generator of some sort. Fortunately it stopped. "Staff could not be more helpful and were always happy & willing to talk to guests. Food in restaurant was exactly what I have come to expect from Shepherd Neame Hotels and Pubs. I had room on 1st floor with access to roof terrace which had an excellent view of Viking Bay and the Sea. I found room very quiet at night with only the sound of the sea to be heard in the background. "
