"Overall great hotel"

"We stopped here on a whim as we were driving down the coast and couldn't have been more pleased. It is a beautiful property and well situated for exploration of Monterey and the surrounding area, both on foot and by car. The staff was absolutely lovey and the evening happy hour and breakfast were first class. We will definitely stay again!"

"The location suited our needs very well. Close enough to walk to the pier or the aquarium. The beds were nice. The shower pressure was a negative. We enjoyed the double sinks with our family of four. Our first impression was not great because older decor. But clean. Friendly staff."

"Ok so I’ll start out with the positives…..I mean who can beat the view looking out at the water! We had an ocean view room with a balcony. It was just beautiful, though pretty chilly with the breeze at times. Also, the free continental breakfast delivered to your room was amazing. "The property was perfect. Clean, well maintained and the staff was kind and always ready to help. The only thing we had to watch the charges on our bill. For some reason they were charging an extra $10 a day for Valet parking. They were apologetic and fixed the problem daily."

"This is a nice hotel with great views (ocean view side). I took off 1 star due mainly to the breakfast being a little disappointing. The pastries were small and seemed like the plastic wrapped kind you might get at a convenience store, and overall the options were pretty limited."

"We couldn’t use the TV system because the system is not “ random “ password acceptable and our phone doesn’t accept such a non- safe wifi system. We could not watch anything using the TV. You should tell guests when they check in. Otherwise, we don’t know what to do with it."

"Always love staying here. Emmy at the front is so nice and we had the most wonderful cleaning staff with blonde hair. Didn’t catch her name! So attentive and kind."

"Had a wonderful stay. I requested an upper floor room with ocean view and I wasn’t disappointed. John and Carol at front desk were always helpful and friendly. Room was clean, location within walking distance to aquarium and cannery row. Short drive to Carmel. Only issues were cable would go out sometimes and kids yelling and running around in courtyard. Luckily that stopped at 830. Overall was a great stay. "

"The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Location was perfect to walk to downtown, wharf, cannery row and the aquarium. Furnishings were dated. I would consider staying there again. Breakfast was mediocre."

"We stayed 4 nights. The room is very small but clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. There is some airport noise, but only during the day and we didn't find it a problem. The staff was very helpful. It is in a very convenient location and the price was excellent for a stay in Monterey Peninsula. We liked being able to drive right up to the room. Nice flowers throughout the property."

"We love this hotel. It's within walking distance to Alvarado Street and other shops/restaurants, the rooms are always clean and a noon checkout time is such a bonus. The staff is always polite and helpful. We've never had a bad stay. The pool was cold this time and the lock is very janky, however My key wouldn't work and neither would the maintenance guy's, but he was great and got the gate open."

"Standard cookie cutter Munras Ave Monterey tourist trap. Large room, spartan/worn furnishings. Management customer service appalling, beyond atrocious. If I could give zero star this establishment merits zero stars. Do yourself a huge favor, stay elsewhere."
