"I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. "We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. Spotlessly clean, it felt very new and fresh. The staff were very friendly and there were some thoughtful touches like a birthday treat in our room. We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel, but breakfast was excellent and in an airy, characterful room. The location was very good. Easily walkable into the city, but it still felt quietly tucked away. It is hard for taxis to reach the hotel so you have to walk the last few metres. This was no problem, but...

"The location was not convenient for dining, and shops. Before arriving, I received a text saying if you need overview of the city, let us know. so I asked for it, then, I received a map. "Nice hotel with modern amenities about 20 minutes from the historic old town by foot. Close to local bakeries, bars, and restaurants, or a cheap uber/bolt ride to other areas. The hotel’s dark features and dim lighting do create a bit of an eerie vibe at night, so wouldn’t necessarily recommend for families with younger children."
