"The semi sweet is a huge room!!! Staff goes above and beyond. The imperial palace is across the street, and the trains and buses are within a 6 minute walk. Make sure to bring a goshuin book with the amount of shrines. Only thing they don’t have is a washer and dry on property. But if you ask the front desk they can recommend one within a 10 min. Highly recommend. "

"Kleinschalig hotel/appartement met grote kamers en alle voorzieningen. Vriendelijk ontvangst, ontbijt werd op de kamer bezorgd en was erg lekker ( elke dag ietsje anders). Vlakbij metro en de drukke stad op loopafstand. Zeker de moeite waard."

This actual building is about 15 min away from the check-in spot and they give you plenty of reminder e-mails to ensure you know what to expect. Getting to the home was easy, and there were plenty of parking lots ard the corner (1000Yen for the day max, 300Yen max overnight). It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. It felt like returning to my granny's house in post war Setayaga. Special. There are exceptional people among the staff whose heart beats echo mine and that era."

"We enjoyed our stay. There were a lot of big tour groups staying as it was cherry blossom season so the amenities were pretty taxed. Hard to get laundry done because of the crowds and a few machines out of order, coffee machines out of order, breakfast area very busy. I guess to be expected but perhaps more maintenance during these times might help keep things flowing a little better. "

"The hotel it's small but super clean and well done. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom huge. The only thing is that is on a quiet neighborhood so it's like 20 minute walk to the canal and Nishiki market but still centric enough. Also, the futon sounds like a good idea until the second night and your hips are dying...just saying. It's not as easy as you think if you are 35 or older..."
