"This should have been lovely, spa bath in room, bathrobes etc but unfortunately it was disappointing. Tied decor, no bathroom lock, the noisiest flush on a toilet I’ve ever heard, bath plug didn’t fit properly so water drained away, window handle broken so it couldn’t be opened (it was over 30degrees that day). The reception area smelled like a carvery which was off putting. My biggest issue was that we booked a room specifically for the 3 single beds but it was made up as a double and a single...

"Main issue was the check in- granted it was late in the evening however we waited over 20 minutes as the only poor member of staff on was working the bar as well as reception. Air conditioning in the rooms has been switched off and they provide a fan which was needed but noisy. Rooms are dated but bed was very comfortable. Didn’t try breakfast as having read some reviews we decided to give it a miss. Overall an okay stay for one night"

"Staff were friendly, room was good size for us and our two dogs, found the bed rather firm for us and was rather closer to the motorway than I realised you would have heard traffic all the time if the window was open but luckily there was a fan. The on site cafe was great. Pet friendly, lovely people and good food. Would stay there again for that reason. "

"Room was nice enough but not practical ..... lighting was poor, there were no bedside cabinets, there was no dressing table, there was one easy chair and one stool (it was a double room so why not two chairs) bath/shower not guest friendly, the bath plug/drain did not drain properly which resulted in my having to stand in very hot scalding water for my shower and getting bright red feet as a result, there was no toilet brush either which is a basic hygiene matter. Bar etc was comfortable enough...

"The bedrooms were quite shabby. The carpet was stained, the TV remote didn't work, nor did the bathroom fan and the dressing table chair was worn through. In my husband's room the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and the wall heater was very marked and dirty. Every other guest we spoke to had similar stories. To be fair, the public rooms were in a better condition."

"Clean rooms, good food and food choice, friendly staff. I was less pleased that a couple came into the restaurant area with their dog which they allowed to walk on their chosen table. A number of members of staff obviously saw this but chose to ignore it. There seems to be little point in having a high cleanliness rating if dog owners are not only allowed to bring their animal in to the restaurant but then not challenged when abusing that permission"

"Hotel was immaculate and the facilities excellent. The rooms themselves were large and spacious with everything you needed. The only slight issue was there was no plug socket near the mirror in one room and in another there wasn't one by the one bed...but we could get around these."

"Cash less hotel, in my view this should be mentioned when booking, I had a problem with my card so took cash which was worthless. Been to this hotel a couple of times now. On our previous visit we had lunch and a few beers in the hotel bar before we headed to a concert. This time we were informed the hotel no longer accepts the currency of our country so we dined and spend our money elsewhere. Spent nothing at all in the hotel and don't think we will return again."
