"Our room was near the pools and lagoon which meant easy access. There were lots of free activities offered, some of which were in the large outdoor pool if you wanted to join in. The staff were very friendly, helpful and seemed to be happy to be working at the Marriott no matter what they were doing...and had beautiful singing voices which we often heard if a celebration was held or a person was leaving. The breakfast offered a large, varied selection of food for all nationalities to choose...

Restaurant service was painfully slow. Got my food after an hour wait. Not very energy efficient as all rooms have aircon going with the louvers windows open next to the front door. "We had a constant stream of problems during our stay with the Double Tree. The room was not as nice as we expected the curtains had holes from moths and some of the lights were burned out in the main room so it felt like a dark cave. We found a dead cockroach in the main room on the first night that was not cleaned up for 2 days. A second roach showed up in the bathroom the very next day too. The shower was fantastic and lived up to the pictures. Shower towels were the most frequent issue....
