I booked a Queen Terrace room at The Gotham Hotel expecting a premium boutique experience, but the condition of the room did not match the category advertised.
The terrace window had visible sealing material from leakage and the glass was fogged, affecting the main skyline-view feature I specifically booked. The blackout shade near the desk also did not work. In a follow-up email, General Manager Kristina Tinaj confirmed replacement parts had already been ordered for storm-related window/blind damage, meaning these issues existed during my stay.
Shortly after arrival the bedding had to be replaced due to cleanliness concerns. The bathroom sink leaked underneath during use and drained very slowly; I recorded video and showed it to Srdan while onsite. The heater also did not maintain temperature even when set high, and the bathroom door hook was broken.
Housekeeping entered after only one knock earlier in the stay. Later I allowed entry only to place towels on the bed, but the room was cleaned beyond what I authorized and the patio door was left open, making the room very cold.
I raised these issues with the manager on duty, Dante, but was told the only adjustment available was a facility-fee refund unless I checked out early. Despite confirming repairs were pending, the hotel declined further compensation.
This did not reflect the standard expected for a terrace-category stay.
