"Property is advertised with the BBQ. Unfortunately we were told after purhase of our stay in order to use it.. you have to purchase the BBQ pack for $145 dollars. I have very specific dietary requirements and although there is a fry pan inside.. this left a very sour taste in my mouth that we werent allowed to use the BBQ. Just seemed petty and they failed to acknowledge this as unfair or sneaky. Wont be back "

"Unfortunately, after having a beautiful stay only a couple of weeks ago, my second stay at the Rydges Melbourne wasn’t enjoyable. The most upsetting part was, that the kettle in the room was full of ants. After cleaning them away I left the kettle outside for the cleaning staff to clean it. The next day, no action was taken and I discovered that the ants are crawling through the power plug. I’m afraid that I do have them in my luggage now. IMO they should urgently get pest control. The second issue was the busy breakfast. Despite a hefty price tag of $39, I had to wait 15 minutes to get seated and then discovered that half of the food didn’t get replenished quick enough. I won’t come again."

"Unfortunately upon checkout I was asked to pay more for parking even though I made sure at check in I was being charged inclusive of parking, which I even double checked with the girl and was told it included parking. Apparently it was miscalculated and I was only charged for 1 night l, which really shouldn’t be my problem and even then the girl at the front upon checkout tried to overcharge me more than I supposedly owed, which I luckily picked up on before tapping my card. Nice hotel and a great location, but it left a sour taste in my mouth at the end with the parking charge muck ups that should have really just been waved."

"The superior twin room we were initially allocated had no windows, and the TV was mounted on the side of one bed, making it unsuitable for both guests to watch comfortably. In our opinion, these appeared to be standard rooms rather than superior rooms. After we raised our concerns, we were moved to another room which did have a window and a TV positioned facing both beds. However, the air conditioning in this room was not working. I would like to mention that Nas from maintenance was excellent. He was very helpful, attended promptly, and supplied a portable fan to assist with the issue. Thank you."
