"The staff were most welcoming, helpful, and cheerful. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Beautiful grounds overlooking the lake. Comfortable room with outside table and chairs. (We did not use the gas freplace in the room.)"

"Excellent accommodation and wonderful hosts
We had the pleasure of spending three days and three nights at Arcadia Lodge in Russell and truly enjoyed every moment of our stay.
The lodge is exceptionally well maintained, spotless, and clearly run with great attention to detail. We would especially like to thank the fantastic hosts, Greg and Peter. "What wonderful accommodations on beautiful grounds right by Lake Taupo! Was getting nervous on our road trip that there was nothing out here, but Tongariro Lodge exceeded any expectations. We stayed in a very comfortable villa, did a load of laundry, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend!"

"Nice location a few km out of Rotorua. The park-like grounds are a bit odd with the Alice in Wonderland themed art, but peaceful and with nice views of the lake in the distance. The rooms are well appointed but have zero soundproofing: you will hear your neighbors snore and chat, and doors are so flimsy you hear everything going on in the common areas. Bring your best earplugs. Breakfast is decent, service can be slow. Tiny outdoor pool and two nice hot tubs. Maintenance is hit and miss: rooms...
