"The staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was clean, but it definitely needs some updating. One downside was that there is only one small elevator, so expect long waits, especially when other guests have luggage.
The biggest issue for me was the location. The hotel is marketed as “downtown,” but it is actually about 5.5 miles away and around an 11-minute drive. When I asked the front desk, I was told downtown was only 3 minutes away, which was misleading. The surrounding area also felt a little sketchy and not what I would consider a true downtown or walkable location.
There is a grocery store and a few restaurants nearby, which was convenient, but if you are wanting to stay within walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, nightlife, or the fairgrounds, this probably is not the hotel for you.
They do offer a continental breakfast, but we chose not to eat there. It did not look like anything particularly special, and the breakfast area itself was not very inviting. The TV selection was also very limited with only a few channels and no real movie options, so keep that in mind if you are traveling with kids and hoping to keep them entertained during downtime."
