"Hospitality was very good but we were disappointed to find that a service charge was added to all purchases at the bar that we were not told about. We only realised this when reviewing the receipt.
Service charges should be at the customers discretion.
There was also a £50 deposit that was asked for on arrival but not clearly explained!! This was taken on my bank card (which worried me for the duration of my stay, as I had paid up front and never use room service or charge to my room) and when I asked for the payment to be reversed, as I checked out, and a receipt for the negative payment I was told this was not possible.
I was very disappointed that we are not trusted. Now if I had been asked for a credit to authorise any charges, If added, this would have been fine but to take a £50 deposit, with no explanation, is not on.
Very disappointed. Spoilt my stay. 😟"
