"The Castañeda Hotel is a very historic Harvey House built over 100 years ago. After being abandoned for years, it was meticulously renovated a few years ago. My wife and I were excited to spend a night to experience the ambiance. Yvonne at the front desk was friendly and took plenty of time to visit and make recommendations for dining etc. All the rooms are unique and differently decorated. "Extremely clean rooms! Comfortable beds! (and I am picky about both!) It had a “homey” feeling. This place is a rare find. It is run by a husband and wife that are very kind and very accommodating. This is my second time staying here. On this trip our group of 6 rented 2 rooms and everyone in our group enjoyed their stay. I will stay here EVERY TIME I travel through Raton, NM."

"Arrived late and the only two queen bed room available was upstairs, but no elevator! We were disappointed as health issues prevent me from climbing many stairs. Hotel clerk graciously offered us the ground floor handicap room which was greatly appreciated. We have a handicap placard. Easy access to room. Room was clean, bright, and decorated well. Breakfast was sufficient for us with hot foods, eggs, potatoes, polish sausage, waffles. Would definitely stay here again. "
