"No elevator within the building. There is a tight window for check-in otherwise they will charge you extra, even though it is all done on your phone once you arrive. Furniture is tiny, 'couch' is torn up, and uncomfortable; not relaxing after a full day of exploring. There was a large dirty mouse pad outside the bathroom used as a rug? Booked a city view room but had a view of the alley and parking lot. After our third day, as we were entering the building, we were stopped by a stranger walking...

"Beautiful and spacious room. Very nice automatic bathroom and although I am not a Hello Kitty fan, the decor was very tasteful and well designed. Downsides: A very steep staircase to the room, which is difficult with large or heavy bags. No staff onsite, so you had to rely on the informational booklets provided in the room and the check-in was a bit awkward; at an office near Kyoto station."
