"Understanding that it's a budget option business hotel and not a fancy resort, this place was amazing. Very cheap during rainy season, and the lady at the reception was very nice. She didn't speak a lot of English and we didn't speak a lot of Japanese, but we made it work. Our rooms were bigger than usual for Japan, even though it was cheap. There was a vending machine and free coffee in the lobby."

"Ace hotel Kyoto is super cool! The staff went above and beyond to extend our stay due to passing typhoons and the hotel is stylish, rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Great coffee downstairs and some lovely boutique shopping right outside the hotel. Close to trains and not in the crazy touristy area of Kyoto. Our family enjoyed our short stay. Highly recommend if you want to stay in downtown Kyoto."

"Rooms were great! Bigger than other similar rooms (in my experience), the buffet was very nice and worth the cost, and the staff were extremely helpful. Doing laundry was challenging - they only had three machines and a lot of people were trying to do laundry. Eventually got a load in and it wasn’t fully dry when finished. Not a big deal, just something to note. Locations is amazing and nearly everything was within walking distance. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone."
