"Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Lounge area was lovely and if it had soft music playing would have been even better. This hotel is not for people who have difficulty with slopes or steps as it’s on the top of a hill and a fair walk from anything. The hotel rooms (we had a sea view room) are tired and need painting and mould and mildew spraying in the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the bedding and towels clean and soft. "Lovely hotel shabby chicbut you don’t worry about as pets are allowed ! Staff lovely and Tea & coffee etc free 24/7 plus free cake at 3pm ish… close to everything and a great view if your on a sea view room. Huge family rooms bathrooms are a little small but still OK would defo go back 9/10 ! Bad bit iPads for check in don’t work loose them not needed staff are much nice reception ! "

"The room was lovely, clean and a decent size. The twin beds were like two small double beds, which was amazing, I hate sleeping in a single bed!! Breakfast was buffet style and had a really good selection, the only downside was you couldn’t get a proper cup of tea! The water came out a multi drink machine, so the tea ended up looking frothy (not nice). That aside, we had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again. "

"Cant beat the location. Just next to York Minster and tons of restaurants. Walking distance to the Shambles and almost everything. The only issue that actually makes our stay not comfortable is that the hotel does not have Air conditioner. We were there during heat wave and this make the stay in the room really unbearable. The temperature in the room was so much higher than the outside. The staff was nice and try to give us 2 fans and a bucket of ice. Still felt very hot. The breakfast was set...

"Although staff were friendly, I was left waiting for an issue to be resolved and had to go back to the bar myself and still wasn't served quickly. I felt they were more interested in locals than guests. Dangerous outdoor stairs, slippery and ill lit, and very scruffy corridor to rooms which worried me. Booming from bar coming from door marked private right opposite rooms til midnight on a Monday, from the afternoon. Thus I couldn't be in, couldn't sleep, and it wasn't very warm. Very dangerous...
