"The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. "

"A simple inn for basic staying"

"Loved this traditional stay in Kyoto, the breakfast was great and the tub in the bathroom was so relaxing after a long day of walking. The only thing is if you don’t have a car rental it can be tricky planning your day based on the bus routes. The bus stop is only a minute walk away but if you miss a bus you may have to wait a while for the next one. Overall loved staying here!"

"Overall really nice stay at Sagano Hotel, have a simple breakfast (2 pc sandwich & a cup of coffee) in the morning is nice. The room is large with big bathroom & big bed. Have a microwave in room so can buy food at minimarket & self preheat. Wifi at room also really good. No time limit for check in, love it! From this hotel we can see the river of Togetsukyo Bridge and have free rental bicycle so really easy to get around arashiyama. But just remember that it is a Love Hotel so prefer for...

"We finished our honeymoon at this hotel, and it was truly an amazing experience. The staff was incredible and made our stay feel so special. We had a couples massage that felt like it shaved ten years off both therapists were fantastic. The thermal pool was beautiful and impeccably clean, making it the perfect place to relax. Great value for the money, however for my family of 5 I wondered if the savings translated since we ended having to take an Uber back to Kyoto Station (25mins aprox) every day and back for all our tours.. maybe if you are public transport savvy it would be ok but we had two people with android phones and we failed to get a Suica card or ICOCA at the station and it just didn't work for us on the savings end. "Everything was fine. However we aren't used to small spaces before. And while staying in the room we felt a bit cramped. Although we knew about this in advance-we had read about small spaces in Japanese hotels in magazine before our trip to Japan. One the other hand, we loved traditional atmosphere."
