"I recently stayed at Keio Plaza Hotel and had a bit of a mixed experience overall. When I first checked in, I was assigned a room in the South Tower that hadn’t been renovated yet. Unfortunately, the room felt quite dated and a bit worn, and it gave off a slightly unclean impression despite being serviced. That said, the highlight of my stay was definitely the staff. I spoke with the front desk about my concerns, and they were incredibly friendly, understanding, and professional. They offered me the option to upgrade, and I decided to go for it. I’m really glad I did. The upgraded room was a completely different experience: modern, clean, and very comfortable. While I do think the unrenovated rooms could use some attention, the excellent service and the quality of the upgraded accommodations really turned things around for me. If you’re planning to stay here, I’d definitely recommend opting for one of the renovated rooms from the start."

"Convenient location for Shinjuku Station & Airport Express buses (which stop at hotel). Excellent breakfast (but scrambled eggs are like soup). Room (upper-level lady twin - for 2) was tiny and I kept tripping over the threshold and then down again into the tiny prefab bathroom. Deep tub to step into for shower. So much to trip over! One small hard pillow per bed. Dated interior and amenities, though clean, with small window that can’t open. Safe (except for tripping hazards) and convenient but would choose a better hotel (newer, larger room) next time and just get a taxi to the station or AirPort Express stop. Served us well this time but room was claustrophobic and basic, considering the price."

"Had an amazing stay at Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu—easy 5/5. The location is unbeatable, right above Shibuya Station and steps from Shibuya Crossing, which made getting around Tokyo incredibly convenient. The views from the room were incredible, especially overlooking the crossing at night. The room was clean, comfortable, and well laid out, with everything I needed. Staff was professional, friendly, and made the whole stay seamless. Despite being in such a busy area, the hotel felt quiet and relaxing. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo."

"The hotel and amenities are modern. Our bathroom was really clean but no hooks to hang any towels. Unfortunately the room was very dusty and we found a sandwich bag of old food on the window ledge at the side of the bed. Room is also very small, which granted rooms are small in Japan but there really was very little thought had gone into storage options (which we found other places we stayed had). "

"Very nice hotel. Staff were hospitable and helpful. Amenities were great. Location was excellent and accessibility to everything was great. The airport limousine picks up straight outside so getting to the airport with our luggage was a breeze. Great restaurants right outside the hotel. Room cleanliness was ok. We asked for our room to be made but they did not remove and replace the coffee cups we used. I had to ask front desk for fresh ones on the third day and after we used them, they still weren't collected over our 5 day stay. Regardless we still enjoyed the hotel. I consider it an excellent choice and would book again if I ever return to Shinjuku."
