"Hotel was very clean and modern, secure underground parking, friendly reception staff and breakfast was good enough for the money. Ideal for airport and breakfast started at 4am for early flights. Only gripe was that we had to ask for the air conditioning to be turned on in our room (strange that we couldn’t control it without requesting it)! But once it was on it was fine. "Very friendly and helpful staff, great bar and restaurant, excellent spa, indoor and outside pool options, great access to beach and boardwalk leading to Gaia and Espinho (two smaller cities south of Porto). Rooms also have great view. Very upscale. The only downside is that it’s about a 25 minute car ride to Porto, but the neighboring cities also offer a cool beach town experience (but definitely go to Porto). We would definitely return!"

"Octant is a beautiful hotel, and the staff are next level - while we were out for a hike, the staff held on to our daughter’s doll. When we returned they had taken pictures of the doll doing all sorts of fun activities - from a massage at the spa to helping at front desk. Truly above and beyond!"

"If using the indoor pool, bring a swim cap and flip flops so you don’t need to purchase them. Otherwise, great stay just outside of Porto. We used Bolt to get around during our stay."

"What a lovely place to stay. The terrace, overlooking the river, was the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Breakfast itself provided and excellent selection too. The staff were very attentive, helping us get connected to their Internet and quickly replacing a malfunctioning kettle in the room. They were also very efficient when it came to getting a taxi or making reservations at restaurants. We would certainly stay here again if we came back to Porto. MS"

"Not a 4 star hotel. Super dated old hotel and they don’t even try to maintain anything. When something breaks down, they don’t even try to fix it. We came into a hot room and the AC was not blowing, and they tried to gaslight me. Make me feel like I’m crazy. But we booked two rooms and the other room the AC was blowing just fine. They made it seem like we didn’t know how to use an AC and they did not change the room until the third time we asked. The balcony area looked really gross. Everything...
