"Setting is lovely but quiet. Need to drive some 7 miles for foods . Owner very personable and informative. Perhaps cafe was open on our arrival day, it might be easier. Overall we had a nice stay."

"The location was fantastic with great views of the ocean and it was a quick walk into town. Pam was a great host and very helpful and her breakfast menu was varied and tasty with lots of options. The house aand room were very well maintained and you could sit in the front yard (which was also lovely) and have a cuppa and enjoy the views. The only slight negative was the size of the room..a little small for our luggage but we managed. Apart from that I would highly recommend it for a stay at...

"An amazing old but well maintained house, newly renovated with all the modern comfort in the middle of a huge park with meadows and old trees. Our room was very large and the beds really comfortable. The bath was in relation to the room a bit smaller with an even smaller sink anyway no reason to complain. "Cuil-an-Daraich was absolutely wonderful! This place is beautiful, with views, wonderful room, nice living area to enjoy, and excellent breakfasts. Hosts James and Lisa were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and just a joy to chat with. This was such a peaceful country setting, with such a beautiful area to explore surrounding it. We would definitely recommend it, and would stay here again. Thank you again James & Lisa!"

Comfortable room, hot showers, nice big bed, delicious breakfast - try the whiskey porridge! We ate all our lunches and diners at The Auld Smiddy Inn and wish we couldn’t stayed longer!"

"Booked again since we were overly impressed when we stayed here last year. Proprietors are ever so polite, friendly and accommodating. Full Scottish breakfast with cereals, yoghurts, toast, fruit, tea and coffee in abundance. Clean room with comfy bed has tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits and bottled water complimentary each day. Cannot recommend highly enough... we shall return."
