"Windsor Suites boasts itself as a bougie hotel in Philadelphia. Let's find out.
First, garage parking costs guests $57. No self-park, no valet. $57. The hotel has 24 floors; rooftop lounge and outdoor pool, 24/7 indoor lounge with serve yourself coffee and continental snacks, and a gym. The rooftop lounge was locked (you pay extra for access), and the pool was closed. The elevators were TINY, couldn't fit more than 3 people with bags.
My room was on the 16th floor. I had a view of Sts Peter and Paul Basilica and the Central Public Library. But I am sus of the activities in this "luxury" hotel.
The edge of door to the room had significant damage; it looked to have been forced open from the outside, and with large scrapes from top to bottom. The broken door had not been repaired, with splinters and chipped paint coming off. The chaise was clearly "used" (a bit of Tide Wipes couldn't hurt.) The bed was ok, and the room was basic. But the live sansevieria plant in the room was nearly dead. I should have kept it, but I gave it water and propped it up instead.
On the 12th floor is the only ice machine and vending. The only restaurant/bar, an Irish style sit-down, had a good selection of reasonably priced food. Appetizers, Entrees, Salad/Sandwiches, all roughly $15-$25. I had a French Dip and fries with a Bloody Mary. It tasted okay, but I ended up with severe stomach pain later that I suspect was from the food.
I've stayed at cheaper hotels with better reviews. Thumbs down."
