"This was an awesome place to stay. The room,#16, had everything we could have needed. I loved the recliners and the kitchenette was perfect for our needs. It was right on the water with chairs to sit outside to enjoy the scenery. Parking was a few steps from the door. We would 100% stay here again."

"Very uncomfortable - it felt like an army barrack, not like a resort. The room was very, very small, and the parking lot was practically part of our room (noisy, no privacy). I would not recommend it."

"Great stay at the Retreat; good location close to stores, bars, restaurants & cafes on Citrus Ave. updated room with in room AC. Breakfast is basic but plenty of breakfast options in walking distance. Would return for sure!"

"This older property suffers from substantial deferred maintenance and a desire to cut costs. Two examples are unscrewed (not missing) lightbulbs above the bathroom sink and a shower that would not turn on. There was absolutely no water. I acknowledge this is a 2 star propoerty, however, the low price does not offset the inconvenience. "

"The breakfast menu was fresh and well taken care of. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was that my GPS let us to an entrance to the hotel which was a ramp and then it had a big drop so I bottomed out my car just letting people know to only exnter off of the highway entrance. There was a caution orange net there but somebody took it down and we arrived at night so we did not see that."

"DO NOT STAY HERE! Check in lady acting like she was doing me a favor, letting me stay on the first floor. The room was disgusting. There were tiny holes in the gross window curtain. The freezer section of the fridge needed to be defrosted so badly that I could not use it. The tub dripped, thank goodness, not real loudly. However, the air conditioner sounded like the jet passing over at low levels when it turned on and stayed on. I could not adjust it any cooler, it said it was at 70°, but I was...

"The backyard view was beautiful! Unfortunately the room was musty smelling and I had asthma. Just was an old cinder block building. The lights needs to be improved. Just an old place but staff was friendly and helpful. The grab and go was quite unhealthy. There were no creamers for coffee and tea - just gross Coffee Mate flavors"

"The property was close to Fort Island beach, Three Sisters Spring, and the small hunters beach which is in Crystal River. The property was clean and easy to check in. Honestly, the property was close to everything you would need such as grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants. "
