"This is an interesting property. It has no lounge or gym. Just a small desk where you check in before going up a lift and narrow hall to one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in during my London visits. Staff is decorated with tats and piercings. As a solo female I will admit this caused me a bit of anxiety, but they were all lovely people. Food is in the Henri restaurant. "Charming hotel in a historic building. The late Victorian building was once the headquarters of the British secret service and so has echoes of Sidney Reilly, Bruce Lockhart and Ian Fleming . It was also housed the U.S. Embassy and the Soviet Embassy (on different floors) during WWIi. Winston Churchill had an office in the Liberal Club, which shares the building with the hotel. "The rooms were clean and very modern. The staff were attentive, arranged car service, and made recommendations as needed. They even provided us with a bottle of prosecco for our anniversary. We enjoyed the Blind Spot (Speakeasy) on the property. They had great drinks and we had a few shares while there. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the tube.
