"Overall, the hotel was clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff serving breakfast and cleaning our rooms were wonderful throughout our stay. However, we had a very disappointing experience on the evening of April 25. After a busy day and late dinner, the parents in our group gathered quietly in one of the rooms for tea. Shortly after, a front desk staff member approached us saying our group had been making excessive noise for over an hour and that there had been complaints against us. This was very surprising, as our group had only returned to the hotel about five minutes earlier. There were several teenage sports teams staying at the hotel, and there had been noise in the hallways earlier in the evening, which we assumed caused the confusion. We politely explained this, but later received calls to the room repeating the accusations and warning that we could be removed from the hotel if the noise did not stop. We were shocked and upset by the way the situation was handled. We quietly finished our tea and returned to our rooms, feeling unfairly accused and treated disrespectfully despite remaining calm and polite throughout the interaction. It’s unfortunate because the rest of our stay had been pleasant, but this experience left a very negative impression, and we would not return in the future."

"The price was amazing and I even received a 25% of for another visit. The property is in need of care. And sadly there is not restaurant during the week when it would have been so great. The rugs all over excluding the room (was good+) for the price, though the tv was poor. I would stay again. Simply because as a Government of Alberta employee it would save the tax payer alot of money. Unfortunately, I would still consider others."

"The location of Varscona Hotel is its absolute strongest asset. Being so central made exploring the area incredibly convenient; it really is the "key" to an stress-free trip. Beyond the location, I was very impressed with the rooms. They have been newly renovated and feel incredibly fresh and modern. I am highly recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, updated stay in Edmonton AB. I would definitely stay here again!"
