"The Antico hotel is lovely. The rooms were comfortable and well designed. The staff was exceptionally helpful as I am traveling alone needed guidance. The breakfast was very good I used the spa and could relax for an hour I had great difficulty finding the hotel and needed help to locate and bring suitcases over difficult paths. Perhaps the hotel could send information to guests about the difficulty to be reached. On leaving the staff made arrangements to carry suitcases to a taxi I...

"The location is very close to the Sassi, which was my main objective. The parking garage was also very close and convenient. Our room was fine, small shower but to be expected in Italy! All good. Now, let me tell you about the sweet host, so helpful! He set up breakfast for us, baked fresh croissants with jams and nutella, made wonderful coffee and offered yogurt, juice, Matera bread ( the best!) we were a group of 6 filling all of his rooms for the night. Perfect stay for us!"

"Very clean and quiet, comfortable bed, clear information given at checkin and Giorgia helped us to arrange a taxi when we left. The breakfast was very restrictive, a voucher for a coffee and a croissant at a nearby bar and they wouldn't even let my friend (who doesn't drink coffee) have a tea instead. A water dispenser so we don't have to keep using plastic bottles would be better."

"What a gem in Matera! Easy to get to, not to many stairs. (It's Matera, so of course there are some) It took 7-8 minutrs from the parking garage. Short way to Piazza de Sedile with cafes and restaurants nearby. We had the spa room. It was lovely to jump into the small pool after a warm day. The room was spotless and clean. When you stepped outside and walked around the corner, you had a lovely view of Matera. We loved it. And if you are worried about the noise from the pool; you can turn it off...
