Beautiful property. Staff was 50/50. Some were so friendly and made us feel very welcome, while others were very short, standoffish, and somewhat rude. We asked to two days to have our hand towels and bath floor mat replaced after housekeeping took them, and had to continue to make the request until it was finally provided. Out last day someone from housekeeping walked in our room without even knocking, just as I was about to get in the shower.

The staff and the poolside room The room itself could use some updates, the drawers fell out when I tried to open them and you had to hold the button down for the blow dryer to work. There were a couple days the WiFi did not work. One good experience at the Mexican restaurant but one terrible. Other than that, it was a great stay

The entire resort is perfect! The hotel, the grounds and most of all the staff! Renovations are to begin April 2026 and we can’t wait to return to see what they have done to possibly make an already perfect place even better!

The room was beautiful, but needed lots of minor repairs by professionals. All previous repairs are obvious and appear to be performed by elementary schoolchildren. Poor craftsmanship visible throughout the resort. Not a major problem, justs looks terrible. Half the staff could not speak English or were very limited in their vocabulary and needed multiple attempts at interpretation. The food was usually room temperature and not very appetizing. Even simple things like a hamburger were not visually attractive and looked like hockey pucks. The steakhouse stood out as exeptional. Our waiter Christian was absolutely perfect. Most of the staff appear to hate their jobs and their interaction with us showed it. Our butler, Liis, went above and beyond with his service. Top notch in every aspect. From entering the resort, to greeting us in the pool everyday, until we left, Luis was excellent. Luis even brought my wife Gatorade without asking after my wife contracted food poisoning after dining at the hibachi dinner. Luis is the only reason we did not rate the Majestic Colonial lower. We understand that this resort is going down for much needed maintenance and updating starting in April 2026. It's a beautiful resort that has plenty of potential, and can be a 4 star with the rught staff, maintenance, and general professionalism.

food poisoning, staff is great however got extremely sick both my wife and I, we did enjoy the resort however being sick definitely takes the fun out of it. Food Poisoning is no joke!

The entire property was immaculate. So clean, so beautiful. The quality and variation of food and beverages was outstanding. The entire staff was incredible! Our Butler, Edwin, was amazing! He went above and beyond to ensure we were informed and happy!

Compared to Majestic Mirage that we stayed at previously, the Colonial is at most 3 stars in our opinion. Beach and pool area were great. Good food options. However, it is an older facility (rusty door handles, peeling paint, broken loungers, areas of the buffets had a weird bleachy bathroom smell). Everything was compact and narrow, service amongst housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff were highly inconstant and overall was not attentive. Will stick with Mirage in future, even with price difference

Beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere, but inconsistent service (3.5/5) We stayed 6 nights at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana in a Junior Suite with indoor jacuzzi (Family Side). The beach was the highlight- clean, warm, light blue water, and very well maintained with minimal seaweed. The grounds are beautiful, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Our room was comfortable, with cozy beds, a great shower, and a nice indoor jacuzzi. However, it showed signs of wear, including mold on the curtains and a slight humid smell. The air conditioning worked but ran constantly and was hard to regulate. Hallways were also noisy at night. Service was inconsistent. Some staff, especially housekeeping and checkout staff, were friendly and helpful, but many others seemed disengaged. Requests through the resort app were marked complete when nothing had been done. Communication could also be difficult at times due to staff not knowing English well. The specialty restaurants, spa, and cocktails were excellent, but the buffet food and coffee options were average. Pool and beach chairs were hard to find later in the day, and some loungers were broken. Overall, this resort has a beautiful setting and relaxing environment but feels more average than luxury. I would recommend it for adults or couples seeking relaxation, but I likely wouldn’t return unless upgrading to the Colonial Club.

This is our second time that we stayed at Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. Another wonderful time. They have several food options, and all were good. The lunch on the beach expanded from last year, which was very nice, however they need to be able to stock that area better. Selection of drinks was excellent. Everyone is very friendly. They have an online app to daily activities that was helpful. The resort and rooms are beautiful. The beach is wonderful! You are able to walk it in both directions for several miles. It was wonderful having a chapel with a catholic mass on site. The entertainment shows were enjoyable. We were disappointed that they didn't have the previous year's magic show. They could do a little better job at restocking towels and snacks and shampoos/soaps in the rooms on a more consistent basis. We are already considering going back next year.

Certain requests were ignored, and a very few staff members behaved unprofessionally, socializing loudly with each other among tables where guests were eating, not thanking guests for tips… coffee not replaced in the room.

Room was spacious and clean. Mini bar was refilled daily but only soft drinks. Booze was easily available at bars and restaurants. Pool closes at 6pm and that was disappointing, but I saw the pool being cleaned, tested and treated daily. Food was great especially at restaurants. Buffets were spred-out and busy, but they did have an enormous selection from different cultures. Wait-staff was excellent, though a couple meals they seemed overwhelmed at the busiest times. Housekeeping staff were all very pleasant in the halls smiling and calling hola! We had fantastic room on 2nd floor, Jr suite with ocean view. It was at the opposite end of the resort from the front lobby and activities. MUCH more walking than I'm used to and that was exhausting. We walked it at least a couple times a day, sometimes more, but spent most of our time at the beach or the swim up bar closest to our room. The bar staff were all great and everyone of them made delicious mojitos Only 2 minor complaints, I could not get a second wash cloth or hand towel and there were no bath mats. The floor is slick when wet. I called, left a note and asked staff in the halls, but only got 1 wash cloth, or twice none and had to wash out the one I had. 2nd, At checkout someone had charged $110 in wine to my room, we waited over 45 minutes for security's investigation before they would allow us to leave. Not the front-line staffs' fault but still added stress to our return trip. I wish I'd done the suggested pre-checkout

The resort was very clean and the staff worked very hard to keep everything neat and take care of your needs. The only thing that I disliked was I asked for a king bed and they gave us a room with 2 queen beds. Wasn’t a fan of that.
