Fantastic resort, especially if you have children! We’ve been to a few “five star” resorts that did not live up to their rating- but this one certainly did. The room was gorgeous, bed was comfortable, food 10/10, resort was very clean (especially public bathrooms), and the beach was stunning. I’ve been at “family resorts” before but I’ve never experienced one quite like this. There were multiple activities every day for children that spanned throughout the day into the evening. The only downfalls were the buffet was a bit small for the size of the resort - there is only 1 public pool (aside from the kids water park) so if you didn’t have children, you basically didn’t have a place to escape to be around adults only (I’m not complaining - I know this is not an adults only resort, I just didn’t expect there to be SO many children) - and they don’t allow for online restaurant reservations.

What really upsets me is when you stay for 2 to 3 days you can't get in to any of the nice restaurants that you need reservations. You pay so much money and the resort does not help you with any reservations. I supposedly had Expedia VIP access but upon early arrival I was not assisted or told to go make reservation for dinner and no one spoke to me for assistance. Resort is in the top half of the 20+ places I've stayed in the Dominican Republic and staff is very friendly, helpful and caring. I did appreciate being able to check bags last day after checkout, go on excursion, then return to be able to shower in lobby family restroom and able to eat at buffet before i left property. 8 of 10 rating

Please be aware of our experience during our stay at Paradisus Grand Cana from March 11–16. Our 14-month-old daughter became sick after dinner one evening with symptoms consistent with suspected food poisoning, including vomiting followed by two days of diarrhea. Later in the stay, both my wife and I also became ill within hours after eating, with similar symptoms overnight. This resulted in multiple nights of little to no sleep and extended time confined to our room caring for our sick child. While we understand that illness can occur while traveling, the timing and pattern of symptoms were very concerning. We reported the issue during our stay and followed up afterward, providing documentation, but no compensation or meaningful resolution was offered. In addition, my wife’s tomato allergy was not consistently respected, making some meals inedible, and a personal item was lost during arrival without resolution. The resort has nice amenities, but based on our experience, this was not the level of care or response we expected—especially when traveling with a young child.

Our room wasn’t ready at the 3pm timeframe an wasn’t ready until 4:30pm, which would’ve been fine except the reservation desk for dinner closed at 4pm so we were forced to eat at the buffet for dinner. The second day we made dinner reservations for the next three nights, then came to find out when we went for dinner the second night none of the reservations were actually made. Third and fourth night we could only get 8:30pm and 9pm reservations. The last night, we weren’t seated until 9:30pm at the steakhouse then had little service. Drinks are hard to come by unless you tip plenty and often. Very little food options for anyone with a vegetarian diet at the restaurants or anyone with a special diet. Service for anything is slow. Overall property is rundown. Very few staff members we encountered were actually nice, most were rude or disengaged. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! We aren’t sure how this place was so highly rated!

Had an amazing stay at Paradisus Grand Cana - All Suites Punta Cana! The food was consistently good with plenty of variety, and the pool area was a standout—beautiful, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. The staff truly made the experience exceptional; everyone was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, which really elevated the whole stay. The rooms were another highlight—very clean, spacious, and well-designed, making it easy to relax and feel comfortable throughout the trip. The only downside was booking the à la carte dinners. It was a bit of a mission with long lineups, and I wasn’t able to reserve all the restaurants I wanted. It would be a huge improvement if they introduced an app or a more efficient booking system. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’d definitely come back!

Family friendly environment that felt like a home away from home. The staff were warm and welcoming and tried their best to accommodate all persons from various cultures. The restaurants, spa and the activities were great. Wi-Fi was stable and room was always neat and tidy.

We loved our swim up option. It was nice to be away from others and have our own pool with sitting area. The food was pretty good. Our favorites were Lemon Fish, the Steakhouse, and the beach side restaurant. The buffet had a great breakfast but dinner options varied. Everyone in the hotel was very nice and accommodating.

We had a fantastic time in no small part thanks to our fantastic family Concierge Omar who is a huge asset to your hotel…. Our only slight complaint was the quality of food in some of the restaurants which truthfully isn’t 5* but this didn’t detract from a wonderful family holiday and will be sure to return…. Thanks again Omar - outstanding….

Overall a very enjoyable stay. However booking restaurants was a challenge for a group. Eventually finally got reservations for the last three nights but you never know when you are going to get them and when they will be confirmed. The beach is a one to two minute ride in the trolleys so you do have to plan to make separate movements back and forth. For families with young kids and maybe a little tougher as you cannot easily go back to your room. Overall a very beautiful beach and not very difficult to find shade and a place to sit. Sandy bottom with a little bit of seaweed here and there but overall no water shoes needed. The buffet food was excellent and the restaurants were overall very good some better than others. Part of our group was vegetarian so that was a little difficult to maneuver out the restaurants but the buffet provided a decent amount of choices. The rooms are large and beautiful probably one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed at and so much better to work with a family of two or three kids. You never feel stifled or that you can't find anything there's plenty of space to put your clothes out and store things and we were a family of five. There are plenty activities but you have to find ways to figure out what is happening at the app is not very clear. The water park is nice but the slides for older kids are very slow and not fun. It wasn't something the kids cared too much about. The big area is also 51" so you have to watch out for your kids.

Sehr schönes Hotel, super Pool, cooler Strandzugang. Zimmer mit Balkonpool ist perfekt, gross und schön eingerichtet. Das Buffet ist das beste Restaurant, mit wirklich gutem Essen (nach europäischem Standard), die einen Restaurants sind ein bisschen schwächer, was aber bei all-inclusive zu erwarten ist. 99% des Personals super freundlich und zuvorkommend, einzelne Ausreisser gibt es immer

This resort is absolutely stunning! The rooms, the beach, the pool, restaurants, all beautiful. It is extremely family friendly. They have a great waterpark that’s ideal for kids 10 and under, activities throughout the week, and access to Fun Republic which is a great little amusement park. My kids would hurry up to eat dinner so we could go to Fun Republic every night. I would give this resort a 5 star if it weren’t for the food. We didn’t have access to the concierge so we had to stand in line at 9am to ask for restaurant reservations. If they had nothing available, you had to come back at 3pm to see what reservations the concierge level guests hadn’t taken and were available. We got a reservation every evening but one night. I saw empty spaces in a lot of the restaurants so I don’t think that this system is the best. But you can pay up for concierge service if you want to avoid the reservation line. We didn’t like the buffet. The food was always cold in the buffet but there was a variety. The food in the restaurants was good but the descriptions in the menu often didn’t match what you got. All this said, I would go back because the positives strongly outweighed the reservation shenanigans for us.
