"The central forced-air heating had been turned off throughout the hotel after a recent heat wave. When we checked in it was 13°C outside and the room heat would not turn on. The Duty manager was unable to turn it on after five phone call attempts, requiring 20 mins wait each, allthis lasted until past 2AM, and waked-up by this manager calling to see if it was working yet. "TOP FLOOR ROOM WITH NO FIRE ESCAPE INFORMATION ON BACK OF DOOR is, surely, ILLEGAL. There was no information about anything in the room itself. TV signal was breaking up making it unwatchable most of the time, handset had no cover on the battery compartment, dangerous nail was sticking out of cabinet, shower curtain was dirty, glass shelf missing above washbasin, bed drapes had dirty marks, just needed to go through a washing machine. "I stayed here a few months ago and I had hoped it had improved, however if anything it was worse. The bathrooms are something out the 1970s, the bath was marked with limescale and in the first room I was given the bath plug was almost impossible to get out and the bath was chipped. In that room the window was stuck open about 20cm and despite the efforts of a maintenance man it would not close. I asked for another room and despite being told that the hotel was full one was magically found. The...

Also had an adjoining room and the door between let a lot of noise through which wasn't great when they got up shortly after 5am and put loud rock music on as they were getting ready"
