The location was good - the room had a nice view of the water BUT for us unfortunately, we had a horrible experience. We couldn't get hold of the host and Expedia help line did not answer my messages either (Expedia still never addressed our issue - all messages are u answered). I tried calling the host and they did not answer. We had no information about how to access our room. The host finally sent a txt while I was continually calling to say they couldn't answer the phone right now and would send us a code to our room in a minute. We arrived at 3:45pm and there was no one in reception even though the posted hours were until 5:30pm. We waited 45 minutes outside of the property until we finally got instructions. The room appeared clean until we pulled out the sofa bed (dirty sheet) and the bathroom floor was rusty and moldy appearance - thankfully we had water shoes to wear inside the shower. The air conditioning did not work and kept giving an error message. I messaged the host and they replied saying they wouldn't be able to get anyone to check on it until Monday (we checked in on Saturday, check out Monday). Thankfully we were only here for 2 nights.

The view from the upper rooms of the ocean is breathtaking. The bed is comfortable and the small kitchen space has the basics of what you need. The patio space is shared with other units (although some bamboo provides a bit of privacy) so others smoking &/or having loud conversations can affect the tranquility. The surrounding area is farmland so it is very tranquil. The lodge is under renovation/construction - something we didn’t know. But the work stops in the afternoon so there was no issue. We would definitely stay here again for the views!

A very comfortable and practical place to stay. The full kitchen was a great asset for us. The cliffs right outside the door are amazingly beautiful. It’s wonderful to be able to stroll along the cliffs at sunset.

What a great spot if you want quiet and tranquility, the view was spectacular. Went for a nice walk in the morning along the bluff not a place to go if you do not have a car or don’t bring groceries with you. It’s a bit far out that is what I loved about it.

Great recent and spacious studio, well furnished, huge terrasse. Kitchen equiped with all the required items. The location by the water is quite nice, and the rooftop patio too! Way too cold to use the pool when we were there, but it seems pretty. Easy parking, nice staff. I would only have liked more hanging hooks - in such a wet climate you always need to dry stuff, and with humidity at 80% in the room, it doesn't dry fast!

We had a stop-over at Ponta Delgada on our way to JFK, so we stayed there just one night. We took taxi to resort and felt like we were hostages stuck in the middle of nowhere. Checked in at 9pm and struggled to get a taxi to have a dinner (resort is in the remote part of island with NOTHING at all around it, except small village houses and cows roaming the coast). Called receptionist to help us get taxi (24 Hour Central Taxi had no cabs available and the private cab drivers either didn't speak English at all or said they were not coming to Sao Vicete resort). Receptionist lied, saying she called taxi who supposedly waited for us and left., Asked her for the number she dialed and conferenced her in: private cab driver who answered call said in broken English that he was asleep and didn't go out that night. Receptionist then went completely silent, never answering our calls again. This was surreal, terrible experience. Come and stay here if you want to starve yourself and get stuck with no transportation available in the entire island. The breakfast we were served next morning was huge and the staff that delivered it was friendly, but it didn't compensate for horrible experience we had the night we arrived. We had nothing to eat for almost 16 hours, since we hopped onto plane bound to Ponta Delgada from Lisbon. We will never return to this resort or Ponta Delgada.

Excellent lodge with amazing ocean view, nice swimming pool, lot of space, kind and efficient staff and very quiet. Just one weakness: small kitchen with limited kitchen equipment, a real pity as having dinnee in the garden under a sky full of stars was one of the main highlights.
