The room was large and quite nice. The shower water temperature was irregular and got cold. Climate control also did not work. However, the primary reason for my low score was our check-in. We entered the building to check-in and asked if it was Il Covo. The woman at the desk rolled her eyes and said yes. The check-in process was long and the entire time this woman was incredibly rude to us - the only thing we can think was because we’re American. This was not a budget hotel (in our opinion) and to be treated so rudely was no expected. Days before our stay the first nights stay was put on my card, I had used Apple Pay. She asked me for the same card and I had the physical as she said she couldn’t use tap. This started a series of rejected transactions and the receptionist berating me in a crowded lobby, “for giving her the wrong card.” My fiancé tried to explain the virtual account number is different than physical and she cut him off. When any other person came in she spoke to them and ignored us in the midst of our check-in. Her colleague came out and asked if she needed help and she turned it down. The woman with the long hair who showed us our room was kind and gave a great dinner rec. the woman who helped us figure out a key issue was kind too. But this woman spoiled our stay - great location and breakfast down the street were huge perks but for the rest of our stay we were afraid the woman from check-in would be at the desk. Truly ruined our stay.
