"Thin walls, too much noise during night"

"Room was a great size. Bed was super comfortable. Clean and tidy room, would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. Facilities were good, but needed a good clean in the sauna and changing rooms. Breakfast was great, big variety of foods. Staff were friendly, hard working and helpful."

"Overall we had a lovely stay. Only complaint was that we were cold in the evenings…it was less than 10° outside and the bar had air-conditioning on! We got really cold. The restaurant was also cold, so we only ate there the first night. The food was good, spoilt only by my poached eggs being cool the first day, and when I asked for them to be hot the second morning, they were only just warm! Otherwise a lovely breakfast. Shower very good, and plenty of hot water for baths to warm us up!"

"We stayed for one night. We were attending a wedding close by and don’t live locally. We needed a bed for the night that was inexpensive, had a good check in time and included breakfast. This hotel ticked all those boxes.We checked-in at 2pm, which is rare for hotels now. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We received a personal and lovely welcome with a very swift check-in. The hotel decor is tired and rooms are dated but everything was clean. Beds are comfortable but the pillows were thin and not pleasant to sleep on. We had a TV, a decent shower, (not luxurious but it was hot and powerful), room to put our things and tea/coffee amenities. No aircon but we could open the window. Next morning we had a delicious English breakfast. I have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and not all of them have put an English breakfast in front of me as spot on as the Russell Hotel did. It was perfect and delicious! If I find myself in Tunbridge Wells in need of a bed for the night I would stay here without question. Lovely welcome, friendly & helpful staff with a great English breakfast in the morning. What more do you need?! The hotel was in a good location too and had some free parking. A thumbs up from my husband and me!"

"Lovely location and short 15 minute walk from the old town centre. Room was a good size and always love a walk in shower. There are parking spaces which can also be reserved for a small fee."
