"Have stayed at Briery Wood many times over the last 7 years or so. Consistently good, spotless bathrooms, fabulous breakfast and really excellent restaurant. Reasonably priced for the terrific standard. But the staff are exceptional. Friendly, professional and well trained. We like that they keep the staff on through the winter and chatting with the housekeeper found she is in her 21st year. Many of the others there 10 years +. That says a lot about a business for me. "We stayed at the holiday Inn on New Years Eve which turned out to be a great stopping off point for visiting Cumbria. The facilities and breakfast were great. We would especially like to shout out to the housekeeping staff for their honesty and integrity in handing in some personal property which we inadvertently left in our room.
