"I (we) have never stayed in a castle before so randomly coming across thought why not as it was on par with staying in Durham. We stayed in the main castle rather than the wing rooms. Felt appropriately castle like. Clean. High quality establishment. Uber from the local train station (one stop from Durham) cost 5 pounds. Back to Durham in the morning from there was about 16 or so. We ate evening meal at the bar (had fish&chips, small portion fairly good quality) and a few drinks that were...

"First and foremost the property was clean, functional and offered value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, although our experience of room service was let down by dirty cups being left. We found the hotel lacked character, everything about it was functional and not interesting. This extended to the breakfast, our experience of which was behind not eating supper there. This is not a criticism of the hotel, it is my view. Based on reviews I expected a little more than we got....

"The Hotel location is fanstantis as it is close to restaurants. The Hotel reception need upgrading, completely We found it selfish of the Hotel to outsource its parking to a 3rd party - as we choose FREE parking in the Expedia filter. Guests like paying for all amenties direct, rather than to a 3rd party. Overall, it was okay, as it was a 1 night stay."
