"The hotel under construction didn’t even said in the website. Woke up in the morning no electricity,no water.and didn’t realised that the housekeeping not make up the room everyday..good job only stay for a couple of days."

"This is was a very good hotel in a great location. The staff were fabulous and very helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into the centre of town. I would definitely stay there again. Half price parking was great. We ate at the hotel a couple of times and the soup was delicious. "

"The room was sort of clean but had clearly seen better days. The bathroom was not great. The toilet roll holder had been pulled out of the wall by a previous guest and was just hanging there. The towel rail did not work and was thick with dust, the walls were scuffed and marked for what appeared to be a long time. I like the hotel, have stayed before but they do need to sort out the rooms "

"Limited options on Breakfast, but clean room"

"I was honestly a bit nervous about staying here, mainly because I'm a solo female traveller so staying anywhere unfamiliar is a little nerve wracking but also because of a few bad reviews. I stayed overnight as I was going on a long hike and needed somewhere to stay so I wasn't travelling back too late. The hotel held my luggage before check in then promptly handed it back when I was ready to check in, and they even held it again after check out so I could explore the city luggage free before my coach home. I was pleasantly surprised that I was on the top floor, as I am a big fan of the views and of quietness. They also had a couple of extras in the mini fridge for me for free and said it was an upgrade, maybe because I'm a new customer, but either way, it was a nice surprise. The shower didn't work, or at least, I couldn't figure it out, but the bath taps ran so I had a bath instead which was fine, the hot water ran which is all I needed after a long hike. For a three star hotel, I was pleased with everything and it was all clean. I didn't sleep the best as I was so nervous being on my own which is a shame because the beds were so comfy and the room was so big. As I plan to come to Sheffield again, I'd definitely rebook Great Western Hotel, in the hopes every room was like this one, and knowing there is nothing to worry about, so I'll sleep soundly. Thankyou!"

"Good location for the arena. Rooms were small and dated and not particularly clean. The continental breakfast was a poor choice as well. Staff member was always nice and friendly though. "

"The air con smelt like burnt rubber so I couldn’t use it, one of the plugs blew up and damaged my charger and nearly short circuited my phone. Do not stay here, the rooms are stuffy, full of smelly people and the lifts are dirty "
