"Lovely hotel in downtown Des Moines. I stayed for the Des Moines half marathon, and the hotel was a block from the finish line. An added benefit was the Saturday farmer's market a block from the hotel!"

"Most hotel clerks greet you when you get to the counter and confirm the rate of the room, tell you that they will take a deposit per night. This man said none of that. He said hello and next words out his mouth were you can swipe your card when you’re ready. The rooms were awful. Dated and there was a noticeable smell when you enter the room. "Breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Room was pretty clean. Bed was creaky. Access to car park across the street was spotty, as card scanner to open gate did not function reliably. It was nice to stay downtown with good places to eat in walking distance."

"Quick trip to Des Moines for a fancy dinner and a trip to the zoo. Clean, modern room and a very helpful front desk. Spent more on dinner than the room. 14th Street is busy, and you may need to do turnaround off a side street, but you can get to just about anything you need from there without much travel."

"My only suggestion would be to not allow pets in the breakfast area during breakfast hours. I know it is attached to the lobby, but we witnessed a larger dog with his owner sniffing the buffet area, and it worried us about the cleanliness a little."

"The only that I liked about the hotel was that the bed was comfortable. The rooms had that damp moldy smell to them. The pictures were misleading from the website. They need to update the rooms. The bathroom had dirty tile and there was someone’s fingernail still in the floor. I won’t stay here again and I will not recommend this hotel to any friends. The staff were great and friendly tho."
