"Mini bar was only ok nothing special
There is no lounge or public mingling area upon entry to property
There is a dark circular bar where I didn’t see anybody perched there ever .everyone is outside of course
But the Mondrian lacks a warm welcome vibe as the entrance is so dark and the main reception desk is awkwardly located along a wall .. it feels like they tried to go full -minimalist but failed. "
"The property is very well located with the boardwalk a stone’s throw away. There is little or no service. The guest services answered the phone once every ten times you called. There is no room service. There is a nice kitchenette with no paper towel to wipe anything. The pullout bed is absolutely terrible and a punishment to sleep on. There was no linen for it, we had to ask for it later. One of the tvs in one of our two rooms didn’t turn on. All in all you will feel someone built a nice big property and forgot to staff it."
"When we arrived, the lobby was packed with over 100 people waiting to check in. Apparently this hotel is a regular stop for cruise lines to host a short day for their guests. The lobby is very LOUD It makes it difficult to sit next to and chat with anyone. Everything happens in the lobby. The food restaurant and the bar are in the same area along with a small café kiosk. Option for eats is extremely limited. There is a pool on the second floor that maybe seats 25 people. But no one told us about it until the end of our stay. The layout of the hotel is extremely confusing. We thought time on the beach would save this trip, however, the condition of their private beach was extremely poor and poorly taken care of. Cigarette butts, debris and just general unhealthy sand to walk on was everywhere. The staff seemed extremely laxed in their care attention to the building. The cleaning staff had more fun smoking pot in our hallway than they did taking care of their guests. This included the staff that delivered food to the room at 8 PM last night. He was so stoned he gave us the wrong bill and then insisted that it didn’t matter just sign it and give him his tip. Our room was clean, and our view of the marina was very nice. I will give kudos to the incredible valet leader who was amazing and helping us navigate around being we weren’t going to stay and hang out here, which was our original plan. The lady at the breakfast kiosk was extremely kind and all by herself trying "
"The hotel room is only made for 1 person- max. It is a very small room and the toilet / shower combo room is very small. For this being a Marriott property, I was extremely disappointed as far as the service went. Every single employee looked miserable and we didn’t encounter anyone during our stay who smiled or offered assistance. There seemed to be someone “at the front desk” (self-service computers), however, they acted irritated if you needed Assistance. I also never saw a manager during our time at the hotel."
"Cool hotel. The room was a bit small. The breakfast was great and the rooftop pool and bar are very nice. it is close to the Bayside so great location. close to the Port of Miami which was good because we were going on a cruise."
